I am Masuda and I am 25 years old. I have two children. When I was nine years old my family decided to hand me over to my husband. I started my married life early so I think you can say my childhood died on my marriage day.

International Childrens Book Day
“I am Bobita. I am in grade 3 at The Sreepur Village School. My hobby is to read many books. In the Sreepur Village, we have a library and every day I read books - I love books more than anything.”
World Oral Health Day
As most of the mothers and children that come to the village are from rural areas, using a toothbrush isn't heard of. So, on that basis, we provide every one of our 600 beneficiaries with a toothbrush and equip them with the knowledge required to keep their oral hygiene healthy.
National Conversation Week 2019
In The Sreepur Village, we emphasise the benefits of talking to each other and we always encourage our mothers and children to say how they feel, share their concerns or simply share their day with another by means of talking.
Nutrition and Hydration Week 2019
Following a recent storm in Bangladesh, many of the crops that were due to be harvested this month in The Sreepur Village have been destroyed. We are now looking to raise £5000 to cover the cost of these lost crops and appeal to you, during Nutrition Week, to help us raise the necessary funds so that we can not only grow more crops but help to grow minds too - feeding more families to a healthier future.
The Sreepur Village - 30 Remarkable Years (1989-2019)
The Sreepur Village, Shishu Polli Plus, was established at Sreepur in 1989 on a 15-acre site and has over the last 30 years, successfully re-integrated 897 mothers and 3043 children back into the community. The charity still strongly believes that poverty should not separate mothers from their children and in doing so continues to empower vulnerable women so that more families can gain a better quality of life for the future.
Christmas Day
This Christmas Day, we wished all of our children at The Sreepur Village, a very Happy Birthday. Every year we choose this day to celebrate the birthdays of all our beneficiaries as the majority have come to us abandoned and will never know their real date of birth.
Bangladesh - 47th Anniversary of Victory
Yesterday, The Sreepur village celebrated Victory Day (Bijoy Dibos) which begun with the national flag proudly waiving high above the school campus.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Ignorance and wrong beliefs surrounding disability, compounded with a negative and derogatory attitude of the community (including family members) have contributed to the marginal development in the disability sector in Bangladesh.

National Mourning Day - August 15, 2018
The 15th August is a significant day in Bangladesh as it is also National Mourning Day. In the Sreepur Village, the day's activities commenced with the students performing poetry and then gifts were distributed amongst all the children.
World Breast Feeding Week (Aug 1-7)
In 2018, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) issued a new 10 point guidance to further raise awareness on the benefits of early breastfeeding. According to research, breastfeeding babies for the first two years would annually save the lives of more than 8,20,000 children under the age five.
SwimSafe in The Sreepur Village
On Monday the #SwimSafe schemes commenced once again in The Sreepur Village. They are run by a team from the CIPRB (Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh) who, along with assistance from the British RNLI, have devised learn to swim schemes that are run in both rural and urban areas in Bangladesh
