Where we work

Our core project the Sreepur Village lies approximately 30 miles north of the capital city Dhaka. We also run an overnight girls shelter in the capital city Dhaka.

Bangladesh lies around the river deltas that run into the Bay of Bengal. It experiences widespread poverty; overcrowding and flooding; as a low-lying country is incredibly vulnerable to climate change.

Originally Eastern Pakistan, it became The People's Republic of Bangladesh in 1971 under military rule and became a democracy in 1990.

Bangladesh has a population of 164.7 million, with its capital at Dhaka. The main language is Bengali and the main religions are Islam and Hinduism. It exports garments, fish, jute and leather goods.
