Night Shelter and SUCCESS
We are delighted to share with you that, after 19 months, we have re-opened up our Girl’s Night Shelter and resumed our SUCCESS project: Slum and Urban Community Children Education Schooling Support.

Ayesha - my story of hope in the face of adversity
“My man used to beat me with whatever he could find around him. One day he broke my hand and acted like nothing had happened. My mother in law said that I don’t need any medical attention as I was not bleeding. But it hurt! It hurt really badly! And this made no difference to my husband.” Ayesha said while pointing to her left wrist.
Teachers Day 2021
While our mothers participate daily in various livelihood training programmes, their children go to our school inside our project. Hailing from some of the poorest regions of Bangladesh, these young children have witnessed family trauma and pain and therefore are extremely vulnerable. We are blessed to have such kind and caring teachers who take extra care of our children.
National Eye Health Week
Nine year old Fahad was suffering from poor vision, headaches as well as many other problems in his eyes. After Fahad and his mother arrived to live in the Sreepur Village and under the supervision of a clinic team, Fahad was able to receive treatment to cure his visual impairment.

Mental Health Matters - Shumi's Story of Hope
Shumi is a single mother of one daughter and two sons. Her husband is a driver but he is addicted to drugs. Due to excessive drug taking, his lifestyle is out of control. Shumi's husband would frequently beat her. In his eyes, his wife could not cook so in return she had to bear more punishment.

During our Swim Safe programme this year, we were able to ask one of our young swimmers, Adelle and her instructor, Vivash, what they thought of the swimming programme.
Rubi's Story
This is the story of Rubi.
Rubi Begum, hails from Narsingdi district located in central Bangladesh. She lost her husband after 12 years of marriage together. Rubi's husband committed suicide in February 2020, he was suffering from family conflict, extra marital affair, financial problems and drug addiction, all of which led to his fatal suicide.
Small Charity Week
Ripa Begum hails from the northern part of Bangladesh. A mother of three, Ripa seeked shelter from The Sreepur Village, Bangladesh, in May, 2018 when river erosion completely washed away her house and all her belongings. Unfortunately, every year hundreds of families will lose their homes due to river erosion, especially in Northern Bangladesh where many of our mothers live.
Maternal Mental Health Month
Shefali is a mother of a 1-year-old baby girl and they both live together in The Sreepur Village. After Shefali got married, her husband went to live abroad so she had to live with her in-laws.
HSBC Visit 2021
For ten years, HSBC has been supporting The Sreepur Village, focusing on their education programme.
In October 2020, HSBC generously donated BDT 2,444,840 which is approximately £21,000 which will fund a one year project.
Mother's Day UK
Today in the UK people will be celebrating Mother’s Day but in The Sreepur Village every day is Mother’s Day. For 32 years, The Sreepur Village has made sure that poverty doesn’t tear a child from his or her mother and in doing so continues to provide more destitute mothers and their children with a secure home and a number of life-saving skills that will bring them hope for a brighter futur
