Ayesha - my story of hope in the face of adversity
“My man used to beat me with whatever he could find around him. One day he broke my hand and acted like nothing had happened. My mother in law said that I don’t need any medical attention as I was not bleeding. But it hurt! It hurt really badly! And this made no difference to my husband.” Ayesha said while pointing to her left wrist.
New Shoes
“New shoes, new shoes, here are my new shoes”, shrilled Tonima, an eight-year-old girl of the Sreepur Village.
She also said, “For the first time in my life, I have got a brand new pair of shoes and they are white, my favourite colour. In the morning, when I put on my new shoes and school uniform, my mum was very happy. She told me, you look exceptional, really wonderful”.
